"James Brown Died On Christmas Day," Hands and Knees (self-issued)

handsjb.jpgI'm kicking myself that I didn't think to write something along the lines of this cool 2010 pop-rocker, one that despite the band's lack of old-school soul credentials manages to evoke the Godfather while mythologizing him in the holiday context. (James did die on Christmas, you know.) Downloadable from Bandcamp, for a slight fee. The B-side (cut me some slack, I'm an old person) is "The Biggest Snowflake," a slow-tempo rocker.
