"Hang an Ornament," Grandaddy & Band of Horses (self-issued)

Jason Lytle of Grandaddy is producing Band of Horses' next album, and while they're wrapping that up, the two bands collaborated on this 2014 single, which is a slow acoustic song with a bit of orchestral backing. Lyrically there's not much going on here, the singer asking someone to hang an ornament on their tree, the rest is all mood. Still, it's an effectively emotional performance that fans of both bands will want and is worth the time of listeners everywhere.
